Elon Musk could soon be the world's first trillionaire.
But even as fanboys revel in that fact, the rest of the world has to deal with a more urgent reality.
Elon Musk has unleashed what could soon become the world's worst Ebola outbreak.

As of 31 May 2026, the Ebola outbreak in the Democratic Republic of the Congo and Uganda is already the third worst in history, with more than 1,000 suspected cases and at least 246 deaths.
The strain involved is Bundibugyo ebolavirus, for which there are no approved vaccines or therapeutics.
As the World Health Organization said on 17 May, the risk of spread is compounded by the region's "ongoing insecurity, humanitarian crisis, high population mobility" as well as "the urban or semi-urban nature of the current hotspot and the large network of informal healthcare facilities."
Elon promised efficiency. He unleashed Ebola
As Daniel Payne wrote for STAT News on 19 May, this devastating, fast-spreading outbreak was made possible by the "cascade of consequences" that resulted from Elon Musk "feeding USAID into the wood chipper" during the first days of Trump's second term.
Musk's cuts:
- "Hampered the detection of the outbreak and the response to it"
- Killed funding "explicitly intended to safeguard against epidemics, build up health systems, create supply chains for infectious disease control supplies, and improve sanitation"
- "Froze the work of Ebola response teams"
- Reduced or eliminated "programs designed to detect Ebola cases, alert communities to infection, and dispatch response kits"
- Weakened the ability to "build medical stockpiles and support local health systems"
Payne quoted Heather Reoch Kerr, the International Rescue Committee country director for the DRC, who said:
"Preparedness in high-risk areas is critical to disrupting transmission before the outbreak spreads further... recent funding cuts have left many health facilities without adequate protective equipment, surveillance capacity, or front-line support needed to respond quickly and safely."
As Payne reported, "the cuts to U.S. foreign aid... coincided with the takeover of the area by the M23 rebel group," at which point, said Les Roberts, a professor emeritus at Columbia University, "the central pharmacies collapsed, the rural clinics collapsed."

And the current Ebola outbreak is only part of the devastation wrought by Musk and his accomplice in mass slaughter, Marco Rubio: "The bigger threat to human life, Roberts said, is not Ebola but the cuts to foreign aid broadly. USAID’s cuts have already caused, in his research-based estimate, some 300,000 additional deaths in the DRC."
Elon's chainsaw massacre continues
The world's first trillionaire may be hoping to build a future in outer space. But the consequences of his crimes on planet Earth will reverberate far beyond the Ebola epidemic he's enabled.

The preventable death toll caused by Musk's dismantling of USAID is expected to surpass 14 million by 2030.
And Musk is also doubling down on his efforts to kill Black people in the U.S. too.
Despite lawsuits, he's not only continuing to poison the predominately Black community in Southwest Memphis where he built his first Colossus data center. He's also expanding his toxic footprint to Northern Mississippi.
As the Tennessee Tribune reports, Musk's pollution has already contributed to DeSoto County, Mississippi and Shelby County, Tennessee receiving F grades for smog pollution from the American Lung Association.
And Musk has no plans to stop there.
As WIRED reports, SpaceX is planning to spend an additional $2.8 billion to buy more gas turbines to power its data centers, using the fact that these toxin-spewing generators are classed as "temporary" to get around clean-air laws.
Like Ebola, Elon is deadly and difficult to stop
Elon doesn't just play a racist, sexist, homophobic, misinformation-spreading, Nazi-lover on X.
That's who he really is.
Ever since his trans daughter tipped him over the edge, Elon has been all-in on fascism.
He's waging a battle royale for global domination in the age of AI.
He's at war with both women and democracy.
He's survived the Tesla Takedown movement by refocusing on space.
And the fact he keeps failing upward makes it seem like there's no vaccine against him.
But my oldest Twitter friend LOLGOP isn't giving up.
He's just launched a new effort called Stop The Trillionaires and a new podcast which I urge you to check out.
Perhaps there's still time for the power of the people to take down the world's first trillionaire.
