The story of Bridget Ziegler underscores the hypocrisy at the core of Moms for Liberty.

I broke a vow today.

In the interests of full transparency, I have to tell on myself.

For the past several years, I had vowed (albeit silently) to never personally retweet any content posted by George Conway.

But today I gave in to the temptation.

To be fair, he quote-tweeted me first.

If you haven't been following the news about Moms for Liberty co-founder (and friend of Ron DeSantis) Bridget Ziegler's ménage à trois—and the alleged rape committed by her husband, Florida GOP Chair Christian Ziegler—here's a brief thread.

It's a sordid tale that reinforces the true hypocrisy of Moms for Liberty, an extremist hate group closely aligned with the Proud Boys—and which the now-imprisoned Proud Boy leader Enrique Tarrio once called "Gestapo With Vaginas."

Christian Ziegler, who has previously promoted the Trumpian mantra "never apologize," and his wife are both close allies of Ron DeSantis, who now finds himself adjacent to yet another sex scandal.

As Governor, DeSantis has not only palled around with Matt Gaetz and now-convicted sex trafficker Joel Greenberg, he's overseen—and been aware of—a foster care system that "has for years proven to be a breeding ground for sex trafficking victims, placing vulnerable kids and teens directly in the path of drug use, sexual and physical violence and, often, death."

And of course, if you believe Trump, DeSantis may be hiding a sex scandal of his own.
