One of the lesser scandals of Individual Number One’s scandal-plagued political career was the time he ran a “fundraiser” for veterans during the 2016 campaign and then promptly stole all the money.

The stealing-from-veterans scandal was the final nail in the coffin for the Trump Foundation which, after years of being used as a piggy bank for Trump’s rampant thievery and self-dealing, was forced to shut down in 2018.

As part of a settlement announced by NY Attorney General Letitia James in November 2019:

Trump was required to agree to 19 admissions, acknowledging his personal misuse of funds at the Trump Foundation, and agreed to restrictions on future charitable service and ongoing reporting to the Office of the Attorney General, in the event he creates a new charity. The settlement also included mandatory training requirements for Donald Trump Jr., Ivanka Trump, and Eric Trump.

The Trump Foundation wasn’t even the first time the Trumps had engaged in stomach-churning charity fraud.

As I wrote last September, Trump was also sick enough to team up with his son Eric to steal from kids with cancer:

While attending events at Trump properties, donors were led to believe that “all donations go toward supporting the St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.” In fact, “$400,000 or more” was steered directly to Trump businesses, while additional money was secretly given to other organizations.

Just when you thought it couldn’t get any worse, these slimy grifters are now stealing from rescue dogs, too. And using Eric’s wife Lara—the only one the NY Attorney General didn’t seek to have banned from running a charity—to run the family’s latest scam.

Call Her “Cruellara De Trump”

As S.V. Date just reported in the Huffington Post, a dog rescue charity that uses Lara Trump as its fundraising face is spending $225,000 at Mar-a-Lago this weekend—on top of $1.9 million it has already spent at Trump’s now-scorned-by-other-charities Florida resorts.

Lara Trump’s partner-in-crime Lauren Simmons, President of Big Dog Ranch Rescue, has also been helping spread Trump’s Big Lie about the election on social media—telling people to “TAKE power back” and stop “asking nicely” in the days before Trump and other family members incited a violent mob to storm the U.S. Capitol on January 6th.

Ultimately, having been fined $2 million for illegally misusing charity funds in NY, the Trumps simply moved to Florida and skimmed $2.1 million from a dog rescue charity using “Cruellara de Trump” as the new face for their charity scams.
