Celebrate, America!

With big wins on jobs, inflation, infrastructure, and more, Biden has restored America after the Trump disaster.

Celebrate, America!

OK, I know. The Supreme Court sucks. Climate change sucks. Wildfire smoke sucks. Extreme heat sucks. Twitter sucks. White supremacists suck. Moms for Liberty suck. A lot of things—and a lot of people—suck.

But today, I'm here to cheer you up.

Let's start with a July 4th pop quiz.

See how well you do with these five questions:

  1. How many net jobs were created in America during the last 16 years in which a Republican (i.e. two Bushes plus Trump) was President: a) $13.1 million; b) 9.7 million; c) 6.5 million; or d) $1.9 million?
  2. How many net jobs have been created in the first 27 months of Joe Biden's Presidency: a) 5.9 million; b) 8.2 million; c) 9.8 million; or d) 13.1 million?
  3. What was the change in U.S. GDP in the first quarter of 2023: a) -1.3%; b) -0.9%; c) +1.3%; or d) +2%.
  4. Since the Conference Board began tracking it in 1987, which year saw the peak for employee job satisfaction in America: a) 1989; b) 1998; c) 2018; or d) 2023?
  5. How does the price of gas on 4th July 2023 compare to the price of gas on 4th July 2022: a) higher by $1.30; b) higher by 85 cents; c) lower by 85 cents; or d) lower by $1.30?

BONUS QUESTION: How many U.S. states will receive more than $100 million to deploy affordable, reliable high-speed Internet service to American families in the new "Biden Broadband" program?

How well did you do?

Here are the answers.

  1. You may be surprised to know that the last 16 years of GOP Presidents created (d) a measly total of 1.9 million net jobs. Republicans suck at job creation.
  2. Biden, on the other hand, kicks ass at creating jobs. He already created (d) 13.1 million jobs in his first 27 months.
  3. What recession? US GDP grew (d) 2% in Q1. Well above the consensus estimate of 1.4%, says CNBC. Thanks, Biden!
  4. You guessed it. Americans are (d) happier in their work under Biden too. And the reasons are because he's done right by workers. The Biden economy has created a tight labor market, which means, "employees can command better pay, benefits and working conditions; and greater flexibility in work arrangements."
  5. That's right. Gas prices are (d) way down. It's $20 cheaper to fill up your tank this July 4th vs. last year.

BONUS ANSWER: All 50 states are getting $100 million+ in "Biden Broadband" money. Because Biden is not an asshole like Trump—he's a president who looks after all Americans, even those who didn't vote for him.

Here's a thread highlighting some of the most hypocritical Republicans who tried to take credit for the "Biden Broadband" money they voted against which is now creating jobs and opportunity even in the most godforsaken, Darkest MAGA corners of the country.

Under President Biden, America is just about as great as it can be.

Because I'm committed to cheering you up today, I won't dwell on all the ways Republicans are sabotaging everything, everywhere, all at once.

We know they are sick. They are evil. They are pro-death, pro-stupidity, and un-American in every conceivable way.

But let's remember, there's still more of us than there are of them. And, despite all the sabotage and the setbacks, Biden has achieved more for the country than many thought possible. He's made America as great as it possibly can be in an era of fact-free "Christian" fascism in which one of our two parties is fully committed to the destruction of democracy.

Unemployment is at 50-year-lows. The inflation rate is down to 4%—from 8.6% a year ago. Under Biden, America has posted the strongest economic recovery of any G7 nation.

Biden has led America out of the crisis Trump helped to create—a Covid nightmare that was worse than it needed to be and an economic crash that was caused by the most incompetent and corrupt Administration in history.

So let's celebrate today! The fight against fascism resumes tomorrow.
