A quick update about the future of this newsletter

Now What?

We're 30 days away from midterm elections that will, hopefully, steer America away from the iceberg of Technofascism.

Whatever happens at the polls and over the next two years, Trump will not go quietly.

We're also, as I write this, less than three months away from the end of the year and the 7th anniversary of this newsletter.

This is the 600th post I've sent out since launching Unprecedented.

From the start, thanks to the support of many fine people I know in real life and many more who know me only through Twitter or other social media sites, my articles have reached an audience in the dozens, then hundreds, then thousands of readers.

Even though I made all my articles free early on, I've been grateful for the support of a "small but mighty" group of paid subscribers.

As the anniversary approaches, I've decided two things:

  1. I want to keep this going. I want to keep this site online and keep producing articles in the weeks and months ahead. But I may want to slow down, mix things up, experiment more, write more sporadically.
  2. I don't want to let down my paid subscribers by delivering a product that may be less frequent or different than what you signed up for.

So this is my plan:

  • If you are a paid subscriber, I will be switching you to a lifetime complimentary subscription for as long as Unprecedented exists. You will keep getting the newsletter. But you won't see another bill. (If you subscribed or renewed recently and would prefer a refund, just email me at thedailyedge [at] yahoo.com.)
  • If you're a free subscriber, nothing changes.

I'm not going away, but I do want to send a thank you to everyone who has read or shared or commented on anything I've written here (or elsewhere).

And the biggest thank you of all to everyone who has ever been a paid subscriber or supporter at Buy Me a Coffee. I appreciate your support so much!

I will keep open my Buy Me a Coffee "tip jar" for those who want to acknowledge something I might write in the future or chip in to the cost of keeping this site alive.

I just wanted to share this before the election so it's clear this decision has nothing to do with the results.

Thanks again for being here.

Richard
