15 Years of Depravity

While "Friends" rode high in the TV ratings, a dark parody of New York City friendship was playing out.

15 Years of Depravity

For 10 years, between 1994 and 2004, the NBC sitcom "Friends" offered a sunny and cheerful view of love, loyalty, and coffee-fueled conviviality in New York City.

Meanwhile, in the shadows, a dark parody of New York City friendship was playing out.

As The New York Times detailed on December 18, "Don's Best Friend" was a story of influence, impunity and sexual predation that left hundreds of victims in its wake — and continued for at least 15 years.

The Times wrote, politely, on December 18 that the two men "bonded over the pursuit of women."

Put another way: "their shared interest was not business. It was not golf. It was 'pussy.'"

After months of lies and stonewalling, Trump's loyal soldiers at the DOJ — led by Pam Bondi and Todd Blanche — brazenly broke the law last Friday in their last-gasp efforts to keep Trump's secrets from coming out.

But finally, despite all their efforts to delay, distract, and smear others, a clearer picture is emerging of the close friendship between self-confessed serial sex predator Donald Trump and international child sex trafficker Jeffrey Epstein.

Between all the redactions and all the gaps in information, here's a timeline of what we now know:

The "Best Friends" Era (1988–2004)

Late 1980s – Early 1990s: Donald Trump and Jeffrey Epstein establish a close friendship, moving in the same social circles in New York and Palm Beach. In audio recorded by Michael Wolff in 2017, Epstein describes himself as having been Trump's "closest friend for 10 years."

  • Late 1980s: Trump and Epstein are frequent visitors to the Trump Plaza hotel in Atlantic City, repeatedly bringing underage women onto the casino floor. Employee Jack O'Donnell claims to have told Trump that continuing to hang out with Epstein and underage women was “not gonna look good.”
  • 1992: Trump throws a raucous party at Mar-a-Lago, inviting NFL cheerleaders and Jeffrey Epstein. NBC cameras are present to film a segment on Trump and video footage captures Trump and Epstein partying together, with Trump seen whispering to Epstein and gesturing toward women.
  • December, 1992: Trump asks Florida businessman George Houraney to organize a “calendar girl” beauty competition at Mar-a-Lago. Houraney says he flew in 28 young female models for the event – only to discover the party’s only guests were Trump and Epstein.
  • 1993: Stacey Williams, a former Sports Illustrated model, alleges that when she was 23, Epstein introduced her to Trump inside Trump Tower, where Trump groped her in front of Epstein – touching her buttocks – while the two men traded smiles, as if playing a “twisted game.”
  • 1993 – 1996: According to a January 2020 DOJ email released in the new files, Trump flew on Epstein's private jet (the "Lolita Express") at least eight times during this period.
  • Oct 11, 1993: Trump flies with Epstein and "GM" (likely Ghislaine Maxwell).
  • 1993: A flight lists only Trump and Epstein as passengers.
  • 1993: On one flight, the only passengers are Trump, Epstein, and an unnamed 20-year-old woman.
  • December, 1993: Epstein attends Trump's wedding to Marla Maples at NY's Plaza Hotel.
  • May 15, 1994: Trump flies on the "Lolita Express" with Marla Maples and his daughter Tiffany.
  • 1994: According to a lawsuit filed in 2016, an anonymous woman (using the pseudonym “Jane Doe,” later identified as Katie Johnson) alleges that Trump and Epstein raped her when she was just 13 years old. Johnson claims that Epstein hosted “sex parties” at his New York residence where underage girls were present, and that Trump raped her with Epstein’s knowledge.
  • 1994: A "Jane Doe" victim alleges in a 2020 complaint that Epstein took her to meet Donald Trump this year.
  • 1995: An FBI tip from a limousine driver alleges he heard Trump on a phone call repeatedly saying "Jeffrey" and referencing "abusing some girl." He also claims that a woman who went to police with "allegations of rape against Trump and Epstein later turned up dead."
  • 1995: Maria Farmer, an artist in her mid-20s who worked for Epstein has a late-night encounter involving Trump. As Farmer is working in Epstein’s Manhattan home, Trump, apparently unaware of who she was, stares her down in a leering way. Trump’s gaze makes her so uncomfortable that Epstein intervenes. According to Farmer, Epstein admonishes Trump, “No, no. She’s not here for you.”
  • 1996: Maria Farmer reports Epstein and his partner Maxwell's sexual crimes and interest in child porn to the FBI. Farmer also identifies Trump and others close to Epstein as worthy of attention.
  • Summer 2000: Ghislaine Maxwell recruits 16-year-old Virginia Giuffre while she is working as a spa attendant at Trump's Mar-a-Lago club.
  • Late 2000 (Christmas): An FBI tipster alleges she was invited to a party where it was announced that "Donald Trump had invited everyone to Mar-a-Lago." The tipster was told by an associate that "it wasn't that kind of party, it was for prostitutes."
  • 2002: Trump tells New York Magazine that Epstein is a "terrific guy" who likes women "on the younger side."
  • 2003: Trump reportedly signs Epstein's 50th "Birthday Book." The entry includes a sketch of a naked woman with the note: "Happy Birthday — and may every day be another wonderful secret." Another page features a novelty check signed by "Trump" for $22,500 referencing a "fully depreciated" woman.
  • 2004: The friendship reportedly ends, allegedly due to a real estate dispute over a Palm Beach property.

The Post-Friendship & Investigation Era (2011–2025)

  • April 2, 2011: Epstein sends an email to Ghislaine Maxwell stating: "that dog that hasn't barked is Trump." He notes that a victim (identified by the White House as Virginia Giuffre) "spent hours at my house with him" but Trump was never mentioned to police.
  • August 2017: In recorded interviews with author Michael Wolff, Epstein discusses his deep knowledge of Trump's inner circle and describes their past "closest" friendship.
  • January 31, 2019: Epstein emails Michael Wolff, claiming that Trump "of course... knew about the girls as he asked Ghislaine to stop," implying Trump knew of the trafficking activities but only wanted them to stop occurring at his club.
  • January 7, 2020: An internal DOJ email confirms that flight logs show Trump flew on Epstein's jet "many more times than previously has been reported," specifically during the window relevant to the Ghislaine Maxwell trafficking case.
  • October 5, 2021: Federal investigators serve a subpoena to Mar-a-Lago demanding employment records related to the Ghislaine Maxwell investigation.

While friends with Epstein in the 1990s, Trump committed dozens more sexual assaults on girls and women

"Depending on how you count them," wrote The New York Times in 2024, "19 or 26 or 67 women have accused Mr. Trump of sexual misconduct. Women who have said he 'squeezed my butt,' 'eyed me like a piece of meat,' 'stuck his hand up my skirt,' 'thrust his genitals,' 'forced his tongue in my mouth,' was 'rummaging around my vagina,' and so on."

And, as I wrote in October 2024:

"We also know that the worst sex crime allegations against Trump—including the alleged 1994 rape of then-13-year-old Katie Johnson—occurred during Ivanka's teenage years, a period in which Trump was not shy about publicly expressing his incestuous lust for her."
We know that by the time Ivanka was turning 15 in 1996, the sex-crazed Trump was not just attacking women in public places, he was also abusing his power as the owner of Miss Teen USA to creep into the dressing room to catch the contestants naked.
We know Trump has befriended and defended known rapists, pedophiles and sex predators for decades. In recent interviews, a seemingly tired and apparently senile Trump has once again spoken fondly of his longtime BFF Jeffrey Epstein and even lamented the way his buddy Harvey Weinstein got "schlonged" for his sex crimes.
