If there are three things that define the Trump brand in 2020, they are: 1) Being a fraud; 2) Projecting his own crimes onto others; and 3) Whining like a baby when things don’t go his way and also when they do.
Trump always whines about voter fraud when he loses.
Just ask Senator Ted Cruz. When the Texas Senator won the GOP’s Iowa caucuses in 2016, sore loser Trump claimed he “stole it.”
He accused Cruz of “fraud” and demanded a new election or, alternatively, that Cruz’s result be “nullified.”
Even when he won the Presidency, he still kept whining.
After Hillary crushed him in the popular vote in November 2016, Trump claimed “serious voter fraud” in Virginia, New Hampshire and California.
He was very upset that the media wasn’t reporting on it because of their “bias.” But the only bias was to not report of Trump’s baseless claims, which were backed by zero actual evidence.
When it became apparent that Hillary had crushed Trump in the popular vote by almost 3 million votes, Trump came up with the theory that up to 5 million people had voted illegally in the election.
He demanded a “major investigation into VOTER FRAUD”!
Loser Trump even set up a highly partisan commission led by one of his most rabid supporters Kris Kobach, former Kansas Secretary of State, to “prove” that 3-5 million voted illegally in 2016.
As one of the four Democrats on the 11-person commission, Maine Secretary of State Matthew Dunlap later told NPR, the commission was simply set up to validate Trump’s baseless accusations:
Before we were even really meeting, commission staff were working on a framework of a report. And several sections of report talk about voter fraud, and those sections are completely blank. They didn't insert any information whatsoever.
Ultimately, though, even the bonkers Kobach was unable to fill in the blanks. As the NYT reported on January 3, 2018:
President Trump on Wednesday abruptly shut down a White House commission he had charged with investigating voter fraud, ending a brief quest for evidence of election theft that generated lawsuits, outrage and some scholarly testimony, but no real evidence that American elections are corrupt.
Now it’s 2020. Trump has been crushed in the Electoral College as well as the popular vote. He’s claiming fraud again. Once again he has no evidence. Claiming fraud is just what he does.
Because for a man with such a long history of losing, he still gets butthurt every time.
