The inaugural winner of the FIFA Peace Prize waited only 9 days after chairing the first meeting of his Board of Peace to launch a new "peace through strength" mission in Iran.
In announcing this new initiative, President Donald Trump promised it would be a "massive operation not merely to ensure security for our own time and place, but for our children and their children."
Almost immediately, as missiles destroyed a girl’s primary school in Minab, southern Iran, killing around 150 and wounding almost 100, an anonymous trader on Polymarket going by the name of 'Magamyman' had the good fortune to pocket more than $553,000 by gambling on the fate of the now-dead Supreme Leader of Iran, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.
Critics of Trump's new approach to bringing peace to the world via an unprovoked, unpredictable, and potentially lengthy war in the Middle East, included former Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene who tweeted:
I did not campaign for this.
I did not donate money for this.
I did not vote for this, in elections or Congress.
This is heartbreaking and tragic.
And how many more innocent will die?
What about our own military?
This is not what we thought MAGA was supposed to be.
Shame!
Following a weekend in which the hashtag #SendBarron was trending on X, Donald Trump, speaking bravely through the pain of his bone spurs, announced that he would, if necessary, send other people's sons and daughters into a new Middle East war. "I have to do the right thing," he insisted.
As US troops began to die and US planes began to be shot down out by friendly fire, Secretary of War Pete Hegseth announced that his decisions were being made "prayerfully" and that he was praying, "simply for the biblical wisdom to see what is right and the courage to do it."
Cynics may say that prayers are no solution for an actual strategy.
As of Monday, the war in the Middle East had "expanded dramatically," with retaliatory strikes reaching as far as Britain’s Akrotiri airbase in Cyprus,
But unlike the Epstein case, which Trump said was very boring, Trump insists he won't get bored with this new and unprovoked "war for peace" in Iran.
Now that the Epstein case has been knocked off the front pages, Trump is willing to spend as long as it takes to (keep things that way and) end forever wars in the Middle East.
