One of the lessons of the first Trump term was that nothing will keep Trump away from the golf course. Even as his incompetence during the first months of the pandemic was killing hundreds of thousands of Americans, Trump golfed dozens of times, seemingly oblivious to the pain and suffering he was causing.
But Trump 2.0 takes it up a notch.
This week, while Lithuanians had the decency to publicly mourn the 4 US troops who died in their country during a training exercise, Trump conspicuously snubbed those losers and suckers to pocket a few more riyal hosting a Saudi Arabian golf tournament at one of his Florida golf clubs.

And dead US troops weren't the only thing Trump was running away from.
As the Trump Taxes account on Bluesky put it: Donald Trump poured gasoline on the economy, lit a match, set it ablaze, and then casually walked by the bodies of four dead soldiers before hopping into his golf cart.
What else happened this week?
Wisconsin Hates Elon
First, let's note that this was the week that Elon Musk warned that if Wisconsin were to have fair electoral maps, it would be the end of "Western civilization."

But despite all the money he spent and the election crimes he continued to commit in broad daylight, Wisconsin voted for fair electoral maps anyway.
At this point, everyone hates Elon. Thankfully, the "Midwestern nice" people of Wisconsin are no exception.
Everyone Hates Trump Tariffs
This week's Trump tariffs were described as "bizarre and slapdash" (by the WSJ), "idiotic" (by economists), and were calculated based on numbers that "don't mean anything" (Fox Business).
Even Mike Pence stuck his neck out, calling it, "the largest peacetime tax hike in US history."
Sure, that sounds bad. But how did the markets take it?
According to Carl Quintanilla on CNBC, the reaction was that Trump was "burning down the house to cook a steak."
But maybe we shouldn't worry about the $6.6 trillion in wealth that got wiped out in the S&P 500 in just 2 days.
Peter Navarro (aka Ron Vara) assures us the tariffs will get us $6 trillion back over the next 10 years.

Patience, people! Trump is clearly playing 4-D chess here.
Either that or he's manipulating the markets to force people to sell their Nike stock so his friends can buy it cheap before Trump makes a deal with Vietnam.
Either way, genius, right?
National Security is Broken
While markets are cratering, Americans are panicking and Trump is promoting Saudi golf tournaments, let's not forget that we are still in the midst of the worst national security crisis since ever.
Mike Waltz (who still has a job) set up at least 19 other Signal group chats for our enemies to hack into. And if you're upset that you weren't included on any of those, check your gmail spam folder, because maybe you missed the invite.

Meanwhile, Gen. Timothy Haugh, head of N.S.A. and Cyber Command, is among those who have been fired with no reason given.
“If decades of experience in uniform isn’t enough to lead the N.S.A. but amateur isolationists can hold senior policy jobs at the Pentagon, then what exactly are the criteria for working on this administration’s national security staff?” said a confused Mitch McConnell.
And more heads may yet roll.
Anyone who still has a job in national security cannot rest easy until Laura Loomer has personally completed their performance review.
The Country Has Awoken

The biggest news story of the weekend was the mass protests against the Trump-Musk that happened Saturday from coast to coast.
More than 1,300 "Hands Off!" rallies took place on Saturday, "the most widespread to date of Trump's second term," reports NPR.
What's next?
We know that "panics" and hard times are good for fascists who want to consolidate power.
We know that this regime is already disappearing innocent people and labeling some protests "domestic terrorism."
As the economy gets worse—and as awareness of how Musk's DOGE cuts are harming millions of Americans truly sinks in—the protests are likely to expand.
Trump's madness has brought him—and America—to this current moment. We're one manufactured crisis away from Trump attempting to justify martial law and assume emergency powers.
Between now and the 2026 midterms, two possibilities become more likely: Either Trump succeeds in becoming a dictator. Or JD Vance's handlers execute Plan B, forcing Vance to execute the 25th Amendment and putting the tech fascists in full control.
