I had an account called @TheDailyEdge on Twitter for 14 years.
It was my most "influential" home on the internet.
During the 2012 election, The Daily Edge was ranked as one of the three most influential liberal accounts on Twitter during the televised Presidential debates.
One of the three most influential conservative accounts during those same debates was Donald Trump's own account (@realDonaldTrump).
In 2016, in another analysis, The Daily Edge was ranked as one of the top 50 political accounts on Twitter. So I felt I was having an impact on the conversation.
Other "influencers" soared past me in recent years and now have far bigger platforms.
I quit Twitter temporarily when Musk took over.
I came back hoping to counter misinformation and have some influence for this year’s election. But that was a fool’s errand.
I won't continue to give free content to Elon Musk. Or training data for his Grok AI.
And yes, I know Mark Zuckerberg and Jeff Bezos (Twitch) are also complicit in enabling fascism.
I’ll mostly try to grow my content on less problematic platforms (e.g. Ghost, not Substack).
Here are some of the other places you can find me: https://bio.link/thedailyedge.
