"I know his type," she told us in advance. And, oh boy, she was right.
Last night, Kamala Harris gave Trump the kind of verbal pummeling America and the world have been waiting to see for nine years.
By the end of the night, Trump was exposed, not as a strongman, but as a "weak" and punch-drunk "disgrace"—a national embarrassment easily manipulated by dictators in exchange for "flattery and favors."
Harris talked about her commitment to delivering solutions for the American people—with specific policy plans to help workers, families and small businesses. Trump huffed and puffed, focusing on the past, on his personal grievances, and the latest insane—and despicably racist—MAGA- and Musk-world conspiracy theories.
Harris destroyed Trump on reproductive rights, exposing the nonsense of his "leave it to the states" scam, which results in women "bleeding out in parking lots" and 12- and 13-year-old incest victims being forced to carry babies to term.
Trump, tellingly, refused to say he'd veto a national abortion ban. Which means that, with or without new legislation, abortion will definitely become illegal nationwide in a second Trump term.
Harris also got an assist from ABC News moderator Linsey Davis who tried to pin Trump down on the status of the amazing, wonderful, terrific "Trumpcare" plan he's been promising to unveil since 2015.
Davis: Just a yes or no, you still do not have a plan?
Trump: I have concepts of a plan.
Harris also dominated Trump on foreign policy, highlighting the Biden-Harris commitment to NATO and her own personal engagement with President Zelenskyy before and after the Russian invasion of Ukraine.
Trump tacitly admitted he would let Putin carve up Ukraine in a nanosecond. And Harris hammered him for giving the Russian leader an invitation to expand further into Europe.
Under Trump, she said, "Putin would be sitting in Kyiv with his eyes on the rest of Europe. Starting with Poland. And why don’t you tell the 800,000 Polish Americans right here in Pennsylvania how quickly you would give up for the sake of favor and what you think is a friendship with what is known to be a dictator who would eat you for lunch?"
From the first handshake to her effective closing statement, Harris exuded the strength and charisma Americans want to see in a President.
The mentally feeble bully was left flailing. A man without a plan. A loser without the wit to bob or weave his way out of this spanking.
While it wasn't a knockout, the verdict was unanimous. Harris won CNN's post-debate poll in a landslide. Even Fox News couldn't pretend otherwise.
Yes, Kamala Harris won the debate. And it wasn't even close.
In the process, she exposed why Trump remains the least-qualified and most-unprepared candidate ever to run for President.
Which is saying a lot considering he once held the job for 4 years.
Today, there's clear panic in MAGA and Musk-world. (Creepy Elon offering to impregnate Taylor Swift is perhaps even more bonkers than Trump screaming "They're eating dogs!") And we certainly have to brace ourselves for more dirty tricks and disinformation from the Trump-Putin-Musk alliance.
But "undecideds" can no longer claim they don't have a clear choice in November. This election will lead America down two very different paths: Hope or hate. Sense or stupidity. Freedom or fascism.
