Crime and No Punishment

Trump has gotten away with it again. His next crime spree starts January 20th.

Crime and No Punishment

According to NBC News:

President-elect Donald Trump was sentenced to an "unconditional discharge" in the New York hush money case, making him the first president to have been sentenced for a criminal conviction once he's sworn into office Jan. 20.

It's a crime that he's getting away with it. But it's also journalistic malpractice that anyone still calls it a "hush money" case.

Trump was, after all, convicted of 34 felonies stemming from a far-reaching conspiracy that allowed him to steal the 2016 election from American voters.

But today's sentence is par for the course at the club where Trump wins every tournament.

Trump is a lifelong criminal who has gotten away with a money launderer's list of crimes for decades.

And he's gotten away with it again.

Today's decision means the only punishment Trump gets for cheating his way to victory in the 2016 election, then launching an insurrection after the losing the 2020 election is that he gets to be president for another four years.

His next crime spree begins in 10 days.
